Jardino announces an open call for a residency aimed at two artists who will share the space from 17th of January to 18th of March 2022 to devote themselves to artistic production, the development of new research and the creation of unpublished works. Thus, the gallery makes its boundaries changeable, becoming, at the same time, an artist’s studio and a place of inspiration, imagination and design.

The open call is dedicated to different languages of contemporary art - painting, sculpture, performance, installation, photography, video and sound art - and it focuses on the link between the artistic creative process and nature as a force for continuous change and regeneration.

Embracing Jardino’s philosophy, all artists are invited to partecipate and to devise the guidelines of the project to develop during the residency period that will end with a bipersonal exhibition curated by Julia Rajacic and Livia Milani.

During the three months, different activities will be offered to the artists, thanks to constant curatorial support that will organize moments of comparison and dialogue, portfolio reviews sessions and organization of studio-visit with collectors.

For those interested, please send us your CV and portfolio and a document with a brief description of the idea that will be developed in Jardino.

We are glad to announce our collaboration with theater Beltrade for the projection of a selection of art video from Intĭm ~ us group show.
During the event, 8 art video will be presented to the public, and followed by a Q&A session with the artists.

« The intimate is the world of the I that opens up to the encounters of life. »

Writer & philosopher

The period we are going through has seen a considerable upheaval in our relationships. Repeated phases of lockdown have disrupted our intimacy, both personal and relational. The recommended physical distancing has often been replaced by an injunction to social distancing as an antidote to what psychologist Joëlle Mignot has called the "virus of intimacy". The ubiquitous concern for our physical health based on a mechanical conception of our being has often overshadowed other vital needs, such as our mental well-being as well as our emotional, sensual and sexual needs.

In a context where the other appears as a vector of potential threat to our physical integrity, how to cultivate relational intimacy, this privileged space of sharing and surrender?

How to dare opening up to the other and let ourselves be vulnerable in a world where fear and mistrust seem to have colonized our subconscious and conquered the collective imagination ?

What would be the new ways of connection, and the forms of expression of our affection and desire?
